CE 2.2.2Examine the ways in which prior knowledge and personal experience affect the understanding of written, spoken, or multimedia text.
Students will be able to be able to look at a piece of literature and see the different ways literature can be analyzed. They will share how their own experiences and viewpoints differ by sharing why they perceive things the way they do. This will give students a better understanding on how each person sees things differently. Students will need to bring in previous knowledge that everyone thinks differently. Students will read and write their own personal analysis of the literature. They will convey their personal message using software to illustrate their own personal meanings. This will work on communication and conceptual understanding, and model creativity. Language and culture go hand-in-hand and by respecting how individuals and cultures think differently this will show respect for global learning.
